Thanks to NASA Technology You Can Wear These Heels All Day

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

There are girls—like Sarah Jessica Parker—who say they feel better in high heels than in flats. (All those scenes of her running around NYC as Carrie Bradshaw in Manolos were all SJP.) Wish you could also get some height without the pain? Now you can, with a little help from science. Thanks to a background in chemical engineering and competitive ballroom dance, Anyi Lu's eponymous Bay Area luxury shoe brand incorporates a NASA-designed material called Poron for cushioning. That plus a flexible sole technology means you'll never have to kick them off in discomfort.

Lu began developing her line after having a tough time finding shoes her sister could wear comfortably all day on her wedding day. And as you can see from the look book, one can dance in them freely, look elegant, and not experience excruciating pain. The nude wedges will be the workhorse of your shoe lineup. And contemporaneous with the Spring/Summer 2014 launch is the brand's release of an updated website, where you can purchase the entire collection. Finding your new shoe soulmate couldn't be easier.
