eBay is loading up on big brands in an arms race (of sorts) between the dueling same-day delivery services. On the fashion end, eBay Now offers deliveries, in one to two hours, from Ann Taylor Loft, Armani Exchange, Quiksilver, JCPenny, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Urban Outfitters, Target, and more. But as EcommerceBytes notes, the smaller guys are noticeably left out:
For now, the eBay Now website says the service can deliver thousands of products from hundreds of local retailers, and various searches conducted over the weekend by EcommerceBytes across all stores show only results from large retail chains.
That might be good news for local efforts including Six Doors. For now, the service is only available in San Francisco and the Peninsula, San Jose, and parts of NYC, Chicago, and Dallas. eBay plans to expand the service into other major U.S. cities and London by the end of the year.
