Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

When SF-based California Home+Design ceased publication in February 2014, it left a glossy void for showcasing the local design talent. But this month's launch of San Francisco Cottages & Gardens looks promising for filling those empty shoes. SFC&G's Editor in Chief, Alisa Carroll, tells readers that the C&G brand chose SF because "at this moment, it is a city on fire – from design to visual art, tech to development." Carroll also goes on to name Jackson Square and Hayes Valley as her favorite nabes "because they're tree-lined, intimate and walkable." Pick up a copy of the April issue on newsstands now and keep tabs on the site for digital content and tons of local, interior eye candy.
