Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Women's fashion retailer Joshua Simon has been selling comfy, stylish women's clothing in Noe Valley for 37 years, so this is truly the end of an era. The store is going out of business and will shut its doors permanently in the next few weeks if not sooner, according to Noe Valley SF. The publication also tells us the store appeared in the miniseries version of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City, check out the clip below.

One Facebooker writes:

After a 37-year run in Noe Valley, Joshua Simon is closing its doors. Several friends have worked at JS over the years, and I even did a stint at the boutique while finishing grad school. It's been my go-to shop for so many years, and it will be dearly missed by many folks. Thanks for everything, Joshua Simon!

Sad! But the owners are apparently retiring and we're sure they deserve to kick up their weary retail feet and relax. In the meantime, be sure to head over to 3915 24th Street for 25% to 60% off the store's comfortable, classic clothing.
