Twenty collections walked down the Academy of Art University's catwalk on Thursday, May 8. This year's show was held in front of a crowd of 1,800 that included fashion heavyweights including Rosita, Angela, and Margherita Missoni, Lubov Azria, Suzy Menkes, and more. Up for grabs was a coveted internship from Missoni, among other prizes, grants, and jobs for the talented graduating class. It was Yuko Okudaira's graffiti-print, fringe designs that nabbed the position—in addition to a separate offer with BCBG.
The skill and designs showcased that evening were impressive. But there were a select few that we thought could easily translate into street fashion and into a personal wardrobe. Here's the roundup of our favorites—and the designers to keep an eye on for the years to come.
