Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Design gift store Rare Device is opening its second location in Noe Valley by the end of June. Store owner Giselle Gyalzen writes to Noe Valley SF blog that she and her husband and two children are frequent visitors to the neighborhood and are looking forward to officially joining the community. She also writes that Rare Device is looking to hire design-minded, creative types to help man the new store. But until it's up and running, stop into the Alamo Square location at 600 Divisadero to pick out a gift for Mother's Day. We're certain this Droplet Duo Necklace ($64) will suit every mom's taste, no matter her style.
