In April, we met up with Barry's Bootcamp San Francisco owners Adam Shane and Justin Roja to get the lowdown on the Bay Area's first franchise of the wildly popular studio. As much as we were focused on pricing ($30 per class, discounts available with multi class packs), opening dates (now open), and apparel (tons of cute shwag), Adam and Justin kept returning to the topic of community.
So let's talk about community: If the 500 people who crowded through the doors for opening weekend are any indication, Barry's might be one the most beautiful places in SF.
Considering how well Barry's instructors have polled in our sister sites' Hottest Trainer contests, we expected attractive trainers at the new SF location. Barry's didn't disappoint: We took a class with visiting instructor and COO Joey Gonzalez (swoon), and several of the lovely, SF-based team were sweating through the hour with us. The real surprise of the weekend, however, was the number of pretty non-instructors in our class. (Maybe some of them were models/ringers? One shirtless dude casually mentioned that he was taking his third Barry's class of the weekend. Insane.)
So put on your most fetching workout garb and get over to King Street. The facility is fantastic, the workout is killer, and —most important— the Tinder scene at Barry's is going to be unreal.
