Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It's been more than a year since we began the watch for a Saint Laurent store in Union Square. (A men's-collection-only store finally moved into the space.) And now it's looking like women will have to drive south to Silicon Valley to try on Hedi Slimane's impeccably tailored designs.
The Westfield Valley Fair tells us that in addition to CH Carolina Herrera, Saint Laurent will also open in the mall this fall. And before you bemoan the freeway drive, the mall, with its growing roster of luxe brands, is sounding a lot like Union Square—but with free parking.
