Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
So you want to be patriotic on Independence Day, but don't really want to take Old Glory too literally? We threw out some ideas earlier this week, and we thought it as also a good opportunity to shop local and get some professional advice. So we asked Acrimony manager Sheena Anagnostopoulos for guidance. We're loving the red T by Alexander Wang Long Cami Tank Dress ($84).
"The bold red maxi and white canvas bag combo is the perfect and subtle way to allow you to be festive and not too literal with stars and stripes," Anagnostopoulos says.
Both the Building Block Duffel ($415) and Building Block Bucket ($280) could find comfortable places in our closets. The Rachel Comey Slingback Sandals ($290) and Super Sunglasses ($269) are no brainers.
So there you have it. Go forth and celebrate your independence! And don't forget to throw a sweater over those bare shoulders.
