The beauty salon model is inefficient, according to StyleBee's co-founder Anna Santeramo. Clients need beauty services but can't find the time to head into a salon, while stylists aren't booking 100 percent of their available time, she explains. "Most of the time, I needed these services for professional reasons, and finding someone high-quality, reliable, and available early in the morning or late in the evening was basically impossible or extremely pricey," Santeramo tells C Magazine.
For these reasons, she and her co-founder Ana Nejad launched the StyleBee app, which allows the user to book at-home beauty treatments within a two-hour window. The app currently serves San Francisco and the Peninsula, and is working on expanding into Marin. Prices range from $50 for a blowout up to $150 for hair and make up. Plus, there are additional services offered like manicures and massages. Now, looking polished after a grueling workday has never been so convenient (and affordable).
