Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
On the heels of last week's Bill Murray art show, we have word from 7x7 that Creativity Explored will be hosting a Shoerageous exhibit from August 14 – October 1 at 3245 16th Street. The group exhibition will include work by more than two dozen of artists, with shoe renderings in all shapes and sizes. (We're talking everything from a ceramic cupcake-tiered high heel to two-dimensional drawings of branded athletic footwear.)
We all like to think of our shoes as art; now we can back up those assertions with evidence of an actual shoe-inspired work. So pull out your finest footwear and head over to the reception on August 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. Creativity Explores is encouraging guests to wear their most outrageous footwear. Game on.
