Athleta's Marin location will move into a 4,362 square foot space in Corte Madera Town Centre this month— an excellent reminder that the legging biz is hella lucrative. The space is quite the upgrade for the Gap-owned, Petaluma-based retailer. The North Bay Business Journal reported in April that the new store would be double the size of Athleta's current Strawberry Village store near Mill Valley.
In addition to stocking women's athletic apparel, the store is set to serve as a "wellness resource," with free in-store classes, as well as information about upcoming races and athletic events. If you want to be a part of the grand opening festivities on August 28, you can RSVP —don't worry, it's free— through Eventbrite.
