Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Did we miss an official proclamation from Mayor Ed Lee? Was last week "new store opening week" in San Francisco? We previously told you that Convert MAN opened in Hayes Valley, Azalea expanded to the Mission, and Ampersand opened the cutest, teensiest flower hop on Albion Street. Now, Hoodline reports that See's Candies opened its fifth San Francisco location in the Safeway shopping center on Market last Wednesday. Sandwiched between Jamba Juice and Starbucks in the former Mike's Camera space, the shop has plenty of options to tempt you away from that gluten-free, sugar-free diet you've been trying. If you're looking for a little pomp with your peanut brittle, there will be a grand opening celebration on August 27.
