The Mission's 826 Valencia is the only dedicated place in the city to buy mermaid bait, treasure chests, and hooks right now, but next year San Francisco will have double the pirate emporium fun thanks to a new outpost in the Tenderloin. Could this mean that everyone's favorite pirate shop and writing center loses its title of "finest pirate store on the West Coast?" "We will see, won't we?" executive director Bita Nazarian tells SFGate.
According to Nazarian, the Tenderloin location "is going to be pirate-themed, but it will have its own whimsical interaction." Even better, the second location will have the capacity to influence and tutor 2,000 more young writers—which is the true pirate's treasure.
