San Francisco's resident DIY extraordinaire Jordan Ferney recently launched her newest venture, a lighting brand. It's called Bright Lab and she created it because she couldn't find a US source for customizable cotton string lights for her own projects. The lights come in 5-foot and 10-foot strands, and you can pick from a rainbow of color options or let Jordan choose for you. Hang a string (or ten) in your kid's room for instant cheer, or on a wall for an impromptu photobooth at your next dinner party. The uses for these lights are endless. But remember, they're not waterproof: If you use them for an end-of-summer, outdoor soirée, tuck them back into their boxes at evening's end.
