As anyone who has ever watched Project Runway knows, it's every designer's dream to show in New York. For twelve talented Academy of Art University grads, that dream will become a reality next month when they take to the Lincoln Center catwalk to present their collections for Spring 2015 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Now in its tenth year showing at MBFW, AAU President Dr. Elisa Stephens emphasizes the importance of the program. "Part of our commitment to the designers is to help launch their careers and have their collections seen by industry professionals. Debuting their collections during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center is an incredible opportunity."
So who are the grads who earned that opportunity? Die Zhou, Mia Jianxia Ji, Madison Detro, Szu Chi Huang, and Wei Bai will each show their women's collections at Fashion Week, while Asiyat Tsalikova, Max Lu, Liz Li, Jihyun Kim, Jingci Wang, Yin Yang, and Yaqiong Zhou will jointly present their menswear collaboration, True Fashionista Now reports. Though the designers are traveling east to present, you can watch their designs walk the runway at home; Academy of Art will be streaming the show live on September 6 at 4 p.m. PST.
