Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We wanted to find out how such a varied group approaches fashion, so we dropped by the company's Mission headquarters for answers. From Miu Miu boots to the watch that got away, Timbuk2 staffers' styles prove that California casual is anything but boring.

Vanessa Christie – Retail Marketing Manager is wearing a denim dress by Madewell, leather ankle boots by Bjorn, a yellow wool cardigan by J.Crew, a Sanskrit bangle from a market in India, a gifted stone ring and necklace, and a tattoo by Micah (formerly of Black & Blue Tattoo on Guerrero).

Your closet is on fire! What three items do you save from the flames?

"A giant thick knitted wool sweater I bought from a market after hiking Patagonia in Punta Arenas in Chile. It's insanely warm and super bulky, but holds a special place in my heart."

What item did you pass on that you wish you could go back in time and purchase?

"A pair of tan, mid-calf Frye boots from a thrift store in Bucktown, Chicago."

Bryan Shawley – Senior Manager, Retail is wearing a Nudie Jeans shirt, Civilianaire henley, Naked and Famous jeans, Vans, Tanner Goods belt and bracelet, Iron and Resin hat, and The Hill-side bandana.

Your closet is on fire! What three items do you save from the flames?
"Corduroy Iron Heart western shirt. My Dad's original Air Force fatigue shirt. Self Edge X Flat Head Selvedge denim."

What’s an item that you spent a lot of money on that you regret buying?
"Ralph Lauren Black Label Suit. Living in San Francisco, aside from weddings, there's just few opportunities or occasions."

Noel Kopp – Social Media Manager is wearing a Betabrand bike commute reflective shirt, Levis Commuters, Vans, and a Mondaine Swiss Railway Watch

What fashion rule do you shamelessly break?
"I'll wear white whenever I feel like it, because it's always before the next Labor Day."

What item did you pass on that you wish you could go back in time and purchase?

"This ridiculous watch; I'm still thinking about it."

Emilee Yawn - Project Manager for User Experience is wearing a vintage 1980s YSL top, BB Dakota pants, Frye shoes, Topshop socks, and a bracelet that belonged to her grandmother.

Your closet is on fire! What three items do you save from the flames?
"I have a few dresses from the 1920s that I would be crushed if they got burned."

What have you learned at Timbuk2 that you never would have otherwise?

"It's a magical cocktail to get something made and sold. Every department, from design to production, marketing to e-com, operations to sales have an equally important role in getting a bag out the door and into the hands of the consumer."

Greg Bass – Director of Product and Design is wearing Global Work shirt, a Timbuk2 t-shirt, Banana Republic jeans, Clarks Originals Desert Boots, Nixon watch, and a Carhartt belt.

What fashion rule do you shamelessly break?

"It is an unusual day if my socks really go with my outfit. I just grab the first ones out of the drawer as a general rule."

What have you learned at Timbuk2 that you never would have otherwise?

"How vast the offering of stylish clothing for cycling or bike commuting is out there."

Holly Cann – Operations Manager is wearing Miu Miu boots, Hudson waxed denim skinny jeans, and a Zara linen tank.

Which trend do you really like, and which would you never be caught dead trying?

"I have a love hate relationship with trends. I'm pretty set in my uniform and generally love trends on other people, but most of the time not on me. If I give in to a trend it’s usually an accessory or beauty trend. I loved when a statement manicure was the thing, and I am obsessed with statement jewelry. I love the crop top trend but my mid-drift hates me. And I’m still undecided how I feel about the return of Birkenstocks."

What fashion rule do you shamelessly break?

"Not sure this is a fashion rule but definitely a fashion faux pas on certain occasions. I will wear destroyed denim as much as humanly possible. If my jeans don't have a a rip, tear, hole or a little fringe, I'm not happy."
