Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Look for an in-house collection to join the ranks of the cult-favorite brands that line Asmbly Hall's shelves. Ron and Tricia Benitez, the husband and wife behind the Fillmore boutique, are using their collective experiences in merchandising and the three years of store ownership to develop their own brand of clothing and accessories. "Coming from the industry ourselves, we know what's out there, what's trending and what makes people tick," Ron tells SFGate. No word yet on exactly what to expect, but knowing the store's customer base (the guy who wants to step up from graphic tees; the trendy, preppy, or vintage-inspired girl), it's likely the in-house offerings will seamlessly fit into these closets and wardrobes.
