SF designer Kelly Wearstler's dreams almost went up in flames yesterday when a fire broke out at the Renoir Hotel during construction. The SF Business Times reports that it took about 100 firefighters to save the historic brick-and-timber building that the Kor Group purchased last year. The structural integrity of the building will have to be inspected before work can resume. Let's hope that the damage was negligible—and that Kor Group's chosen interior designer can soon add her magical, ultra-glam touch without too much delay.
