Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Everyone secretly (or not-so-secretly) enjoys being that in-the-know person who discovers designers, but unearthing new talent takes a lot of time. It's way easier to go to an event for emerging designers, pick a few favorites, and proceed to tell friends (who weren't at said event) about the fabulous new line that you found. In that spirit of expediency, set aside time next weekend for Storefront Showcase, a free pop-up event with emerging designers, shopping, and drinks.

The showcase is Friday, August 15, starting at 5 p.m. in Building D at Fort Mason. That means Off the Grid will be there to feed you when you're too famished to keep shopping. It also means parking will be a pain. (If you're a first-time Lyft customer, you can use the code "STOREFRONT" to get one free ride to Fort Mason.)

There are sixteen vendors confirmed for the event so far. Live Love Moda, McMacular, Ele Story, and Treats will be showing off their apparel designs. Latch Key, Candy Couture, Anna Borg, Modify Watches, and Iris Willow will sell their jewelry, while Runnur, Qamay, Lady Alamo, and Dorothy Designs will have you covered on the accessories front.

During the event, you can score shwag by tweeting or Instagramming a post with #HowWePop. Prizes will be awarded based on the number of likes or retweets. So go ahead; get social with new designers. And when your new friend becomes the next big thing in fashion, you can say that knew him or her way back when.
