Spring collabs at Target are slightly heartbreaking. There are tons of cute sundresses and swimsuits, but few practical options for the San Francisco chill. Luckily, the Altuzarra for Target collab is focused on fall layers, or as we think of it, year-round dressing. Trench coats, sweaters, and faux fur: These are the things we live for.

We all know that getting the very best items from a Target collab requires a certain level of planning, so we're here to help you make the most of your final pre-launch days. From where to buy to when to head back for a stock check, we have you covered.

Where to go
Both San Francisco-proper locations will sell the collection, but we've learned from past collab experiences that the bigger stores in the 'burbs stock more styles than the City Target locations. According to Target's website, the closest locations stocking the Altuzarra collection are:

When to buy
Target opens at 8 a.m., and there will be a line. But it's totally manageable. Folks in the suburbs don't turn out early when it rains. If it's drizzling, you probably don't need to arrive before 7. Queueing practices are more aggressive in the city: If you plan to shop at one of the two City Targets, grab a coffee and get there early.

What to buy
Our sister site reports that shoppers at the press preview in New York loved the trench coat ($89.99), the sleep set ($34.99), and the crane-accented sweater ($49.99) and dress ($49.99), and that the faux fur crop jacket ($69.99) looked especially good in person.

Lessons from last time:
There will always be returns, especially from shoppers who order online and bring their items back to the store. Even if you can't find the pieces you want on Sunday, keep checking the stores for returned items. The Peter Pilotto x Target collab deliveries arrived nine days after the February launch; if you're relying on returns to fulfill your wish list, start scouring stores on September 25.
