Did you watch Mara Hoffman's Spring 2015 runway show last week? Then you probably spotted some familiar footwear on the catwalk. Ultra-hip San Francisco brand Freda Salvador provided the shoes for the show after the women behind the company, Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo Nelson, met Hoffman in New York last year. The designers started following each other on social media, and Hoffman reached out to the Freda Salvador team after seeing an Instagram of their Spring 2015 collection.
The duo tells us:
Our palettes for the season were similar....very neutral. We sent her a bunch of samples and the WIT ended up working out. We were slight wrecks the day of the show...until we saw them for ourselves on the runway it was hard to believe it was real. Even during the show it was very surreal. Her Spring collection was one of our favorites ever.
Mara was equally effusive about the San Francisco brand, saying, "The shoes were the perfect compliment to the full collection and overall vibe of the show. We're especially grateful that we were given the go-ahead to paint a handful of pairs to work with our lighter color palette. My everyday muses are my girls in the office, and, rest assured, everyone wants a pair."
If you want to own your own muse-worthy oxfords, scamper over to the Freda Salvador showroom in Cow Hollow.
