Marissa Webb, Banana Republic's ultra-cool new creative director, passed through San Francisco last week after her show at NYFW, and her Bay Area outfits on Instagram weren't too far off from the jeans-and-sweaters combos that local women know and love. Considering how frequently the fashion set in New York and Los Angeles criticize NorCal's supposed lack of style, it's refreshing to see the woman who the LA Times describes as America's answer to Isabel Marant rocking the SF uniform. One noticeable difference between designer's jeans+sweater+scarf look and the standard SF girl's version is the killer gold pumps that Webb is wearing while gazing at the Golden Gate Bridge. For an upscale update to your own look, try subbing your beloved ankle boots for heels. Just keep flats in your tote for commuting.
