· Mark those calenders because next week, from Thursday, September 25 to Saturday, September 27, Goorin Bros. is hosting a sample sale at the brand's headquarters (1269 Howard Street). Doors are open from 11am to 6pm on Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. A full range of styles for men, women, and children, from modern to retro, will be featured in the sale, and prices start at $10 for baseball caps and cadets, $15 for flatcaps and ivys, and $20 for cloches, floppies, and fedoras. The hat brand is a finalist for a Martha Stewart Made in America award, so this is your chance to get a totally important topper for next to nothing.

· Exciting news: There's a second sample sale happening next week at Lombardi Sports (1600 Jackson Street). It's the store's annual Rooftop Sample Sale and it's happening on Saturday, September 27 from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Discounts are up to 80 percent off brands like Nike, RVCA, Levi's, Billabong, Patagonia, and more. There's free parking in the store's underground garage, and rewards members get early access on Saturday at 9 a.m.
