Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
By mid-October, there will be two Population salons in the city. Yes, you'll soon be able to trade NoPa parking struggles for the slightly easier parking near 14th Street. "I want to have a place that's all inclusive in that it's the type of place where everyone feels comfortable," salon owner Brian Belier tells Hoodline. "We're a salon for real people—it's not super high-end where all we deal with are high society people." He's also excited that the location at 14th Street and Guerrero has less hype than Valencia. But the true highlight of the expansion is accommodating more customers and their respective schedules. So start planning your color or cut at the new location. And if you're a stylist or a stylist's assistant, Population is currently hiring.
