Rare Device has hosted gallery exhibits of paintings, slingshots, and Polaroids, so it was only a matter of time before Instagram got its due at the retail-art space. This week, the Divisadero location opened the metaphorical door to #Summer, a group photography exhibition featuring SF-based Instagrammers. Photographers —including Chelsea Ryoko Wong (@chelsearwong), Ike Edeani (@edeani), Isla Bell (@islabell), Ana Kamin (@fluxi), Chelsey Dyer (@chelseydyer), Irene Kim (@irenekly) and Kehau Lyons (@kehaulyons)— will exhibit three framed photographs and will have unframed prints available for purchase at the store and online. You can stop by to see how these 'grammers spent the summer now, or wait for the opening reception on Friday, when you can drink and nibble while you gawk. Go ahead: Call your parents and let them know that that "picture app" isn't a waste of time after all.
