OAKLAND— Get in a gondola tomorrow, September 4, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of Oakland radness at Lake Merritt (1520 Lakeside Drive). Gondola Servizio and Lake Chalet are hosting a book signing for This Is Oakland and a Pic Oakland Instagram contest, complete with totally normal things like gondola rides on Lake Merritt. There will be drinks and snacks, and did we mention the gondola rides? Admission is free. Just show up and be awesome. [The Bold Italic]

FORT MASON— Brit + Co's ReMake conference and festival are next week at the Fort Mason Festival Pavillion. The conference will be Friday, September 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To request an invitation to the conference, you'll have to fill out this form. The maker shopping festival on Saturday, September 13 will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is free, but you'll have to RSVP. [Brit+Co]
