In July, we heard news that Target was eyeing the Bay Area for three new TargetExpress locations. There was speculation that one would be on Ocean Avenue, but it's actually stores in FiDi and in Berkeley that are officially confirmed to open in March 2015. The first SF TargetExpress will be located at the southwest corner of Bush Street and Sansome Street, near the entrance to the Montgomery BART station. The Berkeley location will also be BART adjacent at the southeast corner of Shattuck Avenue and Allston Way.

"From listening to our guests at the two San Francisco CityTarget stores, we know the smaller format of TargetExpress will fit right into the busy San Francisco Bay Area lifestyle and enable us to cater to each community's needs," says Kamau Witherspoon, a senior director of Store Operations at Target. Both new locations will stock the essentials in home, beauty and electronics. The Berkeley location will carry customized options to suit nearby university students, while the SF location will include Target's Made to Matter collection, featuring products from San Francisco Bay Area companies like Annies, Yes To, and Method. No word yet on whether the Ocean Avenue location will round out the trio of stores, but Target plans to finalize the third Bay Area location in the coming months.
