Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Clearly, a city isn't a real fashion city until it hosts a fashion week, so San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance (SFFAMA) wants you to know that the Bay Area has its own style spectacular that merges the fashion and tech industries through workshops, cocktail parties, shopping, and fashion shows. (The Alliance boldly refers to it as the South by Southwest of Fashion.) This year's theme is "Street to Runway."
The week will kick off on Monday, September 22 with an opening party, followed by a fashion tech expo on Tuesday at Le Tote's headquarters, a retail tech summit at Forio on Wednesday, and a blogger event on Thursday at General Assembly. Runway shows will start on Friday, September 26 and continue through Sunday, September 28 at ECO-SYSTM. The complete schedule of events is available on the San Francisco Fashion Week website. Tickets for most of the events are still available on Eventbrite.
