Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
There's a new art store in the Outer Sunset, selling art supplies and raw materials in addition to hosting creative workshops. It's called Case for Making, named after the first book published at the Carville Annex. Find everything from child-size smocks to watercolors to these darling compliment cards to send to all your favorites (just because). If those aren't enough reasons to make the trek to the seaside neighborhood, you'll definitely want to pencil in the upcoming hand-wrapped crystal pendant workshop ($65) on Saturday, January 31 from 2 to 4pm. After you make one of these pretties—whether for your home or for your neck—you'll be eager to buy more creative supplies for DIY projects at home.
