The giant Union Square Sephora by the cable car line at 33 Powell Street closed today for renovations. Before you freak out about the lack of a centrally-located emporium for your essential lipsticks, moisturizers and balms, the cosmetics chain is opening a temporary store on the second floor of Westfield Centre (next to Bebe) on Tuesday, January 27th. The good news is that you can still get your Sephora fix while renovations are underway. The bad news is that the Westfield Sephora will keep slightly shorter hours than the Powell Street location.

As you night owls know, the Powell Street and Stonestown Galleria locations' regular hours run until 9 pm Monday through Saturday. The Westfield temporary store, however, will only stay open until 8:30 pm on weekdays and Saturdays. (It may be a half-hour less than you've grown accustomed to, but at least it's a half-hour longer than the Union Street store in Cow Hollow.) On Sundays, when Union Street and Stonestown close at 6 pm, the Westfield pop-up location will remain open until 7 pm. If you're prone to late-night beauty emergencies, note the changes and plan accordingly.
