Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
For more than a year, we've heard whispers that Suitsupply —the tailored, Dutch menswear brand— would bring its reasonably-priced pieces to San Francisco. We pestered and pestered reps for the company for details, but to no avail. There was no date. There was no location. There were just lookbooks of suits that we couldn't shop in the city. Today, however, we received a different response. Finally, a rep for the company has confirmed that the brand will open a shop in Union Square late this summer. As with all San Francisco openings, we fully expect that date to change. Frankly, we'll be psyched if the store opens in 2015. But we finally believe that a San Francisco Suitsupply is real because we now have an address: 175 Maiden Lane.
