Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Want, need, have to have a massage but too lazy busy to leave your pad, hotel or office? What on Earth do you think Soothe is for? The on-demand massage company/app, which recently began service in SF and the Bay Area, allows for same-day bookings and 60- , 90- , and 120-minute  massages. Swedish, Deep Tissue or Sports rubs—your choice, same price ($99 to $169 including tip). Appointments can be booked every day of the week, 9am until midnight.

"Soothe brings the spa to you. Our trained and vetted therapists deliver spa-quality treatments—often within one hour's notice. Plus there's no parking or traffic, and when it's over, you are just steps away from a hot bath or your own bed," says founder Merlin Kauffman, who started the company after becoming disenchanted with the limited operating hours of traditional day spas and advance-notice booking requirements.

The app, on iOS and Android, is simple to use. You may also book online 24/7 or call (800-960-7668) during business hours. Amen, and ahh, to all that.
