Chic Consolation for Zinc Details' Store Closing? Fab Furniture Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We’re #sadnotsad that one of our all-time favorite design stores in Pac Heights will be closing its chic blue doors forever on Sunday, October 25th. The cavalier attitude makes perfect sense when you consider that Zinc Details' newer, 5,000 square-foot space (1633 Fillmore Street)—located a few blocks south of the original at 1905 Fillmore Street—ain’t going anywhere.

In the meantime, it’s time to say your final farewells and do the silver-lining thing at the first Fillmore location. Now through Sunday, shop the floor-model sale at prices up to 40 percent off, plus save 15 percent on various and sundry selected items.

Not familiar with the iconic, 20-year-old store run by the ever-affable Vas Kiniris, who also happens to be the unofficial mayor of the block? No time like the present: You’ll find a charming mix of modern furnishings, art and gifts curated from around the globe. Just a few brands in its hefty inventory include Kartell, Knoll, Vitra, Marimekko, Design House and more.

P.S. Please keep your pretty paws off that Cherner desk chair we’re eyeing.
