Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
You all know how much we love a limited-edition collection round here at Racked San Francisco. But John Hardy's 40th Anniversary Capsule Collection, which launched yesterday, has us sqealing more than usual thanks to its brilliant pieces.
In honor of four decades in the biz, the jewelry company reached into its amazing archives for inspiration. The result? A covetable collection of gold and silver bracelets using the namesake designer's signature hand-woven, chain technique, inspired by Balinese artisans.
One of the coolest things about it (in our humble opinion) is the breadth of pieces for girls (and guys) of varying tastes and jewelry budgets. For example, you could buy the 18K Gold Classic Chain Bracelet with Diamond Pave Clasp for $19,500 (only 40 were made) or the $340 Classic Chain Lava Bracelet in Silver with Gemstone (there are 4,000 of these). And for gents—or ladies who like leather—there's a hip Classic Chain Leather Bracelet that comes in three colors and retails for $395.
Happy Birthday, JH. See and buy the capsule collection online.
