When it comes to the local fashion-blogger scene, things tend to be all about the usual suspects. Many well-informed SF style obsessives take pride in Gal Meets Glam's nationwide success, envy Stone Fox Style's hair color and adore Allergic to Vanilla's urban style. Ain't nothing wrong with that. We just want you to open your heart even more as there are lots of new faces and fashion perspectives to get to know.
Introducing five bloggers whose stars are most definitely on the rise. (Listed in random order.)
1. Aimee Rancer, The Ohio Transplant
A Midwesterner at heart, Aimee Rancer's smiley, ginger persona is more approachable than your average fashion gal's. Her style is bohemian and effortless (think printed pants and furry vests), and you'll love how she doesn't take herself dead-seriously (see Rancer laugh hysterically). Plus, those glasses!
2. Danielle and Alexa, Hello Mrs.
Shared blogs tend to be quirkier, and these Bay Area ladies implement the idea with enough flair to spare. Their special talents? Compiling chic, covetable outfits from affordable brands like Target and Forever 21— so no bitter designer envy to weigh you down. Danielle Poff, a wedding photographer, and Alexa Nunn, a bona-fide fashion girl and master layer-er who works at Three Bird Nest, both just happened to marry their high-school sweethearts. OMG! Could they be any cuter?
3. Jen Szeto, Window of Imagination
Who says a blogger has to have an actual blog? San Francisco maven of style Jen Szeto operates on Instagram, posting daily minimalistic looks to 15K (and counting) followers. Szeto lives on a planet of blacks, grays, whites and navy blue; and yet, her outfits are anything but neutral. Sizzle sizzle.
4. Olia Kedik, Oliamoda
Olia Kedik is a busy restaurateur (she and her husband are the owners of Skool) and a stylish mom who exhibits cool, urbane style and has a keen eye for killer shoes and accessories. Often dressed in rare vintage or designer garb, Kedik makes for a perfect shopping companion. And that haircut? Fantastic. (We're jelly.)
5. Toshiko Shek, It's Not Her, It's Me.
Toshiko Shek is the ultimate SF girl: She's nonchalant, lives in stripes and plaid, and is always sporting the latest and greatest sunnies. And unlike some over-the-top bloggerati, Shek posts simple, easy-to-wear looks that any young professional could successfully recreate or take inspiration from. Still, her outfits always have a fun twist—no doubt, this blogger has serious fashion game.
