What to do when you need a little decorating help but don't have spare cash to pay a designer? Take a quiz, duh.

San Mateo-based NousDecor just launched a new complimentary service whereby all it takes to get home-décor advice from a professional is answering several questions about your style. (We took the quiz in about two minutes.) Then, just fill out a quick profile and upload a few "before" photos of the room in need, as well as inspirational images, and links to Pinterest boards and Houzz ideabooks.

The payoff will hit your inbox within a couple of weeks when you receive instructions and a personalized shopping list for items that can be purchased through the site or its new iOS app, which also has a supercool comparison-shopping feature. Bottom line: You get your dream room within your desired budget.
