Brilliant! Bow & Drape + Nordstrom Team Up for Customized Same-Day Gifts

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Starting Thursday, November 19th, you'll be able to showcase your rapier wit and holiday sparkle by hitting up the third floor at Nordstrom, San Francisco Centre. It is here, where you'll find Bow & Drape's customization station. Let your creativity flow as you design sweatshirts, pouches, pillows, mugs and gift sacks with statement-making messages or hilarious hashtags for yourself and all the favorites on your list. (Maybe something like #RackedSFisRad.) Prices range from $15 to $59, and you have until December 24th to make it happen.

Basically all you have to do is choose your colors, fonts, sizes and personalized messages via an in-store iPad. Don't worry, specialists will there be to help—or just hold your hand. In about an hour, your prezzies will be ready, and you'll be able to feel really good about yourself. Dontcha just love that same-day customization thing?

"We are basically allowing adults to have some holiday play time. I like to think of it as a Build-A-Bear for fashion, where customers can make something one-of-a-kind for themselves or for a special someone. In the time it would take a customer to pick something off-the-rack, they can instead dream it up with Bow & Drape. That, to me, is the future of retail," says Aubrie Pagano, Bow & Drape CEO and creative director.

Not so good with a turn of phrase? No problem: the smarty-pants peeps at Bow & Drape have created a curated selection of ready-made goodies (also available at Nordstrom.com). See the gallery above for some of our favorite items.

Lest you didn't know, the tech-savvy NY brand is known for its handmade sequin lettering and pun-making expertise—most evident in their celeb-loved sweatshirts. Plus all products are made in the USA.
