Yes, there'll be eggnog (and bubbly, if you prefer) at all the festive events and shopping opps around town this weekend. Most certainly 'tis the season to indulge. Proceed with abandon...

Hayes Valley Block Party: Friday, December 4th, 5pm to 9pm. The Hayes Valley Merchants Association is hosting its 25th annual party in the hood. Enjoy hot cocoa, cider and cookies, along with live music and entertainment (featuring the Royal English Opera and Conservatory of Music Brass Trio) in Patricia's Green. Plus, most of the shops will be open late and serving up their own festive treats and holiday wares. Oh, what fun... Patricia's Green is located at Hayes and Octavia Streets.

Conner Whitlock Trunk Show at Blanc Boutique: Friday, December 4th (and 12th), noon to 5pm. Local designer Julie Whitlock will be showcasing her luxurious handcrafted leather and fur accessories and jewelry, made from an exclusive atelier in Paris. (Ooh-la-la!) Along with shopping the one-of-a kind goods, enjoy bites and bubbly and, perhaps, be the lucky winner of a 24kt snake cuff giveaway. Blanc is located at 3615 Sacramento Street.

Maroquine Pop-Up at Optical Underground: Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th, 1pm to 7pm. SF designer Lily Anderson's  small leather-goods company Maroquine is holding its first pop-up ever. Trust us, the beautiful hand-cut, hand-stitched and hand-finished clutches, passport holders and portfolios will blow you away. Prices range from $90 to $350. Optical Underground is located at 280 Sutter Street.

SF Holiday Design Market at Zinc DetailsSaturday and Sunday, December 5th and 6th. This annual event is ripe for checking out the latest (and damn fine) local designs directly from their creators. Just a few of the peeps that will be on hand include: Denise Fielder of Paste Art (collage art); Christy Natsumi (jewelry), and Tim Roberts (ceramics). Also, Ginko Press will be hosting a pop-up design book shop that will live in-store through the end of the month. Zinc Details is located at 1633 Fillmore Street.

Couture House Sunday Shopping at Helpers HouseSunday, December 6th, 9:30am to 4pm. Do good shopping at Joy Bianchi's place, where your dollars benefit the developmentally disabled. Find amazing vintage gowns, party dresses, jewels, sunglasses and featured handbags ($25 to $99). There's stuff for men, too. Helpers House of Couture is located at 2608 Fulton Street.
