There's no better place than SF for a closet full of sweaters. The easy layer can come off and on as the fog rolls across the city by the Bay. So when local designer Marissa Goodman Thieriot had difficulty finding a chic cable knit sweater—made of luxe, eco-friendly, and American-made yarns—she decided to make them herself.

Naming her brand after her two grandmothers, Marissa launched the Tempest + Bentley collection for fall 2015. The seven styles, including a cardigan and a sweater dress, are currently available for pre-order, and prices range from $695 to $995. Browse through the selection, then save up for your next favorite sweater. The price may feel steep, but you'll wear it year-round, making the splurge one of your smartest yet.
