Last night, approximately 150 readers flocked our Racked Fit Club at Lorna Jane on Union Street to meet brand founder Lorna Jane Clarkson in person before sweating it out together in an indoor cycling class at Equinox. It's a good thing that Zico and EarthBar flanked the entrance with food and snacks, because the line of LJ fans stretched all the way through the store as women queued for their turn to meet the Active Living advocate. Lorna Jane posed for photos and signed books while we enjoyed healthy treats and shopped. But after an hour of socializing —and a $500 LJ gift card giveaway— it was time to get physical at Equinox.
We walked across the street to the fancy new gym in the former Metro theater and set up for a 45-minute indoor cycling class with Equinox Group Fitness Manager Jeff McMullen. Jeff guided us through an intense workout that was filled with upbeat tunes and punctuated with "affirmative" encouragement. Thanks to the handy computers on our bikes, we saw exactly how hard and fast we were pedaling. It got real, but everyone survived the last round of anaerobic intervals and walked out with a smile.
Thanks to everyone who turned out last night, and to Lorna Jane and Equinox for hosting us. We can't wait to see you at our next Racked Fit Club in all your fabulous new gear.
