As we previously mentioned, Kiton has found a Union Square address at 227 Grant Avenue. The new store should be a welcome addition to San Francisco: Kiton USA President Antonio Paone tells WWD that SF is the brand's second largest US market behind NYC. But this is just the beginning of the Italian fashionwear brand's aggressive growth plan. The company will add around 20 more locations to its 52 existing outposts in the next five years.
Unlike other Union Square department stores, the new Kiton boutique will offer menswear, womenswear, and even surfboards. Those boards are hand built by none other than California-based surfboard shaper Casey McCrystal, using Kiton fabrics for the inlays. Buy one and there's little doubt that you'll be the most fashion forward surfer at Ocean Beach—although at the price tag, you may want to keep it out of the water.
