Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Freda Salvador's Union Street concept store is one of our favorite spots in the city —both for design inspo and shoes—  but co-founders Megan Papay and Christina Palomo-Nelson are ready to graduate to a location with more foot traffic. Soon, the indie-cool shoe label will join Rag & Bone, Rebecca Minkoff, and The Kooples with a new shop on Fillmore Street.

The designers tell Racked that they hope to open "in the next month or so" in the former Heidi Says Casual storefront at 2416 Fillmore Street. They're in the process of building out the spot, and they expect to be in business by the end of April.

"Our current store has been more of a destination shop. It's at the end of Union; it's half a floor up. We don't have a massive sign, so you really have to know to go," Papay explains. "We feel like [the new store] will be a true test of great foot traffic in a really strong neighborhood."

Plus, a new Freda shop means new Freda interiors. Can you handle the excitement?
