Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Past Perfect is a perennial favorite on our Home Goods 38 roundup of the best interiors shops in the city. We've already followed the store from Cow Hollow to the Marina (and a satellite location in Cole Valley), and soon we'll drive to the Outer Richmond to get our vintage modern fix.
A store staffer tells Racked that the Past Perfect crew is packing up its 9,000 square foot showroom on April 15th and moving to a similarly-sized space at 6101 Geary, near 25th Avenue. "We figure that part of Geary is slower—not a racetrack as it is here on Lombard—and parking will be a little easier. Plus, that end of town is really happening. A lot of our customers are out that way too," a rep explains.
There's no opening date just yet —vendors are still waiting for standard retail accouterments like flooring, signage, and paint— but they hope to be back in business by the end of April. If you're looking for a deal on a great midcentury piece right now, the store is offering 10-75% off during its moving sale.
As for that giant space that Past Perfect is leaving behind? It will become the new Marina location of Barry's Bootcamp.
