While strolling down Maiden Lane this weekend, we noticed that the construction wall around Maison Margiela was down and the signage was soon to go up. Workers must have been busy through the weekend, because the store quietly opened on Monday, according to Women's Wear Daily. The 2,900 square foot location, at 134 Maiden Lane, is the Margiela's fourth store in the US.
Monica Voltolina, chief executive officer of Staff USA, tells WWD that Maiden Lane was a natural choice for the latest outpost. "The unconventional and forward-looking energy of San Francisco goes hand in hand with the DNA of Maison Margiela. This location will provide the ability to showcase the philosophy of the Maison in the environment it was designed to be in."
The two-story store stocks men's ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories, footwear, eyewear and fragrances on the first floor, and women's apparel, handbags, eyewear and fragrance on the second. Stop by, check out the mysterious interiors, and add something chic to your spring wardrobe.
