Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We hope that you've been dreaming up your next pair of shoes since we first told you that Shoes of Prey would open a studio in San Francisco. The Australian footwear brand has confirmed that the location —inside Westfield San Francisco Centre Nordstrom— will begin taking its first orders on Wednesday, March 11th at a launch event. From 6–8pm, join hosts Janie Bryant, Emmy Award-winning Costume Designer for Mad Men, and Susi Mai, President of MaiTai Global and Red Bull Athlete, at the new space to view a demonstration from the brand's co-founder Jodie Fox and to build those dream shoes using the 3D designers on iPads. RSVP to ivan.beltran@nordstrom.com to attend, and you're well on your way to achieving shoe designer status. While you wait for next Wednesday, here's a quick peek at the design platform.
