Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Lilly Pulitzer has a rabid fanbase, but the brand's preppy designs aren't for everyone. Luckily, the upcoming collection with Target includes way more than just clothing. Looking for towels, plates, or even nail polishes that evoke a summer in Palm Beach? Target has your back. Below, we've assembled a complete guide to snagging your own Lilly Pulitzer Prize.
Where to Shop
Target says that the collection will be carried at all of the stores. All of them. Super Targets. City Targets. Take your pick.
What to Buy
Okay, so this collab is more prep than the average San Francisco girl apparel-wise, but the hats and scarves are fun in a city that lives for hats and scarves. Also, the plates and barware are perfect for summer entertaining. To review every last piece of the collection, and find out which items are online-only, check out the full Lilly lookbook. For what it's worth, our Racked friends in New York have seen the collection in real life, and say the dresses are much better in person than the caftans.
When to Go
The collection will be available at every SF-area Target starting Sunday, April 19th. For Bay Area Target stores, that means 8 am, but shoppers have been known to queue up early for collabs, particularly when housewares are involved. Our advice? Get there by 7 am if you're dead-set on a particular item. And one more thing: The FiDi TargetExpress is not open on Sunday, so don't show up expecting a caftan.
How Much to Grab and When to Return
While there'll be no limit on how many items you can buy, you only have 14 days to return Lilly collab items, (as opposed to Target's normal 90-day return policy).
