Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Real beautiful clothes that you can live in and work in.

This is how Modern Citizen characterizes its collection of wear-everywhere wardrobe staples. Starting this weekend, the e-tailer also becomes a retailer with the opening of its first real-world showroom in Cow Hollow (2762 Octavia Street). Now, instead of just surfing its serene website, you can get up-close and personal to the sophisticated shifts, elevated tees and ultra-chic flats. Go ahead, touch, try on and fall in love with the well-made pieces, all of which exude the label's signature clean and feminine aesthetic. Even better, you don't need a Google exec's salary to afford them because everything is priced from $20 to $300.

There is, however, one little caveat: You need to make an appointment to shop. Before you crinkle your brow, hear this: no pre-booking is necessary this weekend. In celebration of the new, light-filled brick-and-mortar, doors are open to all on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

So, modern (San Francisco) citizens, we suggest you make a pit stop here before or after you head to Fort Mason for West Coast Craft.
