Barneys New York in Union Square is getting a serious makeover: Plans include a new standalone 19,000-square-foot men's store, a major redesign of the women's store and—wait for it—a Freds restaurant. (Finally, we'll be able to dig into that famous Madison Avenue Salad on the regular). Construction is set to begin in July.

The men's store, slated to open next spring, will have two levels filled with ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes from the retailer's key brands: Balmain, Dries Van Noten, Lanvin, Thom Brown and Valentino. The women's renovation, however, won't be completed until some time in 2017, which means you know it's gonna be good.

Of course, the most important thing to note about the imminent construction is this: Your Barneys shopping will not be interrupted. Whew.
