Our fourth annual Hottest Trainer competition starts today. This year's search for the top fitness trainers in San Francisco may just be the most scorching to date.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll profile 16 local trainers and fitness instructors, who were narrowed down from a long list of nominees submitted by readers, peers and secret admirers. But our finalists are more than nice to look at—they'll make you look amazing, too. Plus, they have inspiring stories to share about how they muscled their way to their current spots—among the city's master trainers. Once you’ve gotten to know each of them (via individual post), the competition really begins, and you get to vote for your favorites.

The polls open on August 20th and run through August 28th. Eight men and eight women will go head-to-head bracket-style until one winner is crowned.

Remember, promoting your favorite trainers via social media is key. We'll be doing our part by Tweeting, Instagramming, and Facebooking using the hashtag: #RackedSFHottestTrainer2015
